Whenever We Part - S01

Nuclear testing has caused the sudden emergence of the Fumoon, a small but highly intelligent humanoid species living on a remote island. Dr. Yamadano discovers them, but only a handful of people believe his claims-among them detective Shinsaku Ban, the young men Rock and Kenichi, and Kenichi’s sister, Pichi (Pinoko). The Fumoon are secretly gathering animals from across the globe, planning to take them aboard their spacecrafts and flee Earth. They know the planet is doomed-a deadly black gas, the result of a stellar explosion, will soon engulf it. The Fumoon have no intention of saving humanity, but one of them, Rokoko, befriends Kenichi and decides to help. With the aid of Dr. Yamadano, Dr. Ochanomizu, and Dr. Frankenstein, Rokoko works to build a spaceship that might allow a small group of humans to escape.
