Neon Genesis Evangelion

At the start of the century, the Angels descended upon Earth, bringing destruction and pushing humanity to the brink of extinction. The survivors retreated underground, biding their time until the Angels inevitably returned. Fifteen years later, that day has arrived-but now, humanity has a weapon to strike back: the Evangelions, massive bio-mechanical machines built for war.
