Knights of Sidonia - S01

After narrowly surviving an encounter with a massive Gauna-an attack that claimed many lives-Kobayashi, captain of the spaceship Sidonia, shifts her political stance. Once she consolidates power, she sets her sights on wiping out the Gauna in the Lem system, where former Sidonia colonists have settled. Her plan hinges on two key advancements: powerful long-range weapons designed to fight the Gauna and the creation of Tsumugi Shiraui, the first human-Gauna hybrid with immense destructive potential. However, Kobayashi faces resistance over her use of chimeras and the risks of her military campaign. She recruits elite pilot Nagate Tanikaze, who-after his past experiences with Shizuka Hoshijiro and Benisuzume's placenta-forms a strong connection with Tsumugi. As humanity prepares for its final confrontation with the Gauna, Tanikaze tries to savor his remaining peaceful moments with his friend Izana Shinatose. Meanwhile, Kobayashi quietly advances an experimental weapon that could bring about Sidonia's ruin.
