In the domed city of Romdo, one of humanity's last surviving civilizations clings to existence. The outside world was rendered uninhabitable millennia ago by an ecological disaster. To aid in rebuilding, humanoid robots known as "AutoReivs" were created to serve society. But now, these machines are falling victim to the "Cogito Virus," a strange affliction that awakens self-awareness within them. Re-l Mayer, granddaughter of Romdo's ruler, is tasked with investigating the phenomenon alongside her AutoReiv partner, Iggy. What starts as a simple inquiry soon unravels into a deeper conspiracy, forcing Re-l to confront humanity's buried horrors. Meanwhile, AutoReiv specialist Vincent Law finds himself drawn into eerie events that challenge his own past. As their paths intertwine, Re-l, Iggy, Vincent, and a young AutoReiv named Pino form an uneasy alliance. Together, they delve into Romdo's secrets, uncovering the truth behind the enigmatic entities known as "Proxies."
