The Door Into Summer
Marion is a schoolboy who firmly believes in his own "rationalist" philosophy, dismissing emotions as unnecessary. His refusal to acknowledge affection leaves him cold and detached-until he becomes involved with an older courtesan. Through their relationship, he slowly realizes his so-called rationalism was just a shield for his emotional inexperience. As he learns to love under her guidance, Marion grows, unaware of the hidden consequences their affair may bring.
