As Tokyo grows into one of Japan’s largest cities, the cost of progress becomes clear: nature and wildlife are steadily pushed aside. Among those affected are the "Tanuki," magical shape-shifting creatures who call the forests home. Now, as their land is threatened by urban expansion, the Tanuki face a desperate fight to save their home from being swallowed by the city. With fewer places to hide and tensions rising between rival Tanuki factions, the elder Oroku decides it’s time to act. Hoping to protect their home for future generations, the Tanuki band together, using their shapeshifting powers to scare away humans and disrupt construction projects. Yet their first efforts prove far from simple. As they confront the relentless march of progress, the Tanuki must decide: can they stand united to reclaim their forest, or will anger and despair tear them apart in their war against humanity?
