Ponyo
A goldfish escapes from home and drifts away on a jellyfish. Trapped in a glass jar, she washes ashore, where a five-year-old boy named Sousuke finds and frees her. Sousuke lives with his mother Lisa in a seaside house while his father Koichi works on a fishing boat. The goldfish heals a cut on Sousuke’s finger by licking it, and he names her Ponyo. What Sousuke doesn’t know is that Ponyo already has a name-Brunhilde-and a family. Her father, Fujimoto, is a sorcerer who abandoned his humanity to live underwater, and he’s desperately searching for her. When he finds and captures her, Ponyo refuses her birth name, insisting she wants to be human. Using magic from Sousuke’s blood, she grows arms and legs and escapes back to the surface. But her transformation disrupts nature, causing the Moon to slip from its orbit and the tides to surge dangerously. Now Sousuke and Ponyo must face an ancient test to restore balance to the world and allow Ponyo to live as a human.
