In 1948, three years after the atomic bomb devastated Hiroshima, Gen Nakaoka lives with his mother and adopted brother, Ryuuta, in the ruins of their once-thriving city. Life is a daily struggle, but when Gen befriends a group of homeless orphans, he begins to see his own hardships in a new light. As radiation sickness and the harsh presence of foreign soldiers weigh heavily on the survivors, Gen and Ryuuta must dig deep to find the resilience they need to rebuild their lives.
