Seventeen-year-old Sayako Amanokawa dreams of becoming a journalist like Kanemoto, a respected newspaper writer she admires. But after Kanemoto takes his own life by jumping in front of a train-driven to despair by the shame of a false corruption report-Sayako starts seeing spirits and nearly dies herself. Surviving that brush with death awakens something unusual in her. With her journalistic instincts ignited, she sets out to uncover the truth.
