Revolutionary Girl Utena - S01
少女革命ウテナ , Shoujo Kakumei Utena
Long ago, a young princess lost both her parents in a tragic event, leaving her heartbroken. A passing prince visited her, hoping to ease her pain. After drying her tears, he gave her a ring with a rose emblem, promising they would meet again if she kept it. This moment deeply affected the girl, Utena Tenjou, inspiring her to become a prince herself. Years later, Utena enrolls at Ootori Academy, where she spots the same rose emblem from her ring. Drawn by the scent of roses, she sees Anthy Himemiya tending to the flowers while Student Council President Touga Kiryuu and Vice President Kyouichi Saionji argue over her. Though Utena dismisses it, the Student Council soon meets to discuss something urgent. A misunderstanding pulls Utena into the world of Duelists-students with rings like hers, who fight for control of the Rose Bride, Anthy Himemiya, rumored to hold immense power. Determined to uphold her princely ideals and angered by Anthy's mistreatment, Utena vows to challenge the Duelists and free Anthy from her cruel fate.
