Sixteen-year-old Yuuki Hase gathers the courage to talk to his crush, Kaori Fujimiya, asking if she’d like to be friends. Kaori, a quiet and distant girl, shuts everyone out-including Yuuki-with the same blunt refusal. Later, he discovers her eating alone on the school roof, her usual hiding spot. He starts joining her there every day, hoping to get closer. Slowly, she begins to open up to him-only to pull away again by the week’s end. That’s when Yuuki learns the truth: Kaori’s memories of anyone outside her family reset every Monday, a lingering effect of an accident in middle school. Once warm and sociable, she now avoids friendships to spare others the pain of being forgotten. But Yuuki refuses to give up. Every Monday, he asks her the same question: "Would you like to be friends?" Because he knows, no matter how many times she forgets, Kaori still wants that connection more than anything.
