One Outs - S01

Toua Tokuchi is a genius at baseball and gambling, but he couldn’t care less about the sport itself. Using nothing but average fastballs, he’s racked up 499 straight wins in One Outs-a high-stakes duel between pitcher and batter-treating it purely as a way to earn easy cash. When Hiromichi Kojima, a star player for the failing Saikyou Saitama Lycaons, sees Tokuchi in action, he’s convinced the man could turn the team’s luck around. To force Tokuchi into joining, Kojima challenges him to a game of One Outs and wins, even putting his own career on the line to do it. Now stuck playing for the Lycaons, Tokuchi clashes with the team’s owner, Tsuneo Saikawa, who refuses to pay him fairly. Tokuchi responds with an unusual contract: he gets five million yen for every out he pitches, but loses fifty million for every run he allows. With every game a gamble, Tokuchi must stay one step ahead of everyone trying to take him down.
