One Outs

Hiromichi Kojima, the star hitter of the Lycaons, travels to Okinawa to train and scout a new pitcher for his struggling team. There, he encounters Toa Tokuchi, a pitcher with a modest 134 km/h fastball who dominates an underground gambling version of baseball called "One Outs." Persuaded by Kojima, Tokuchi joins the Lycaons under a risky contract: he earns 5,000,000 yen for every out he records but loses 50,000,000 yen for every run he allows. What follows is a tense battle of wits, blending baseball, gambling, and psychological strategy.
