In This Corner of the World

Suzu Urano is a gentle, dreamy girl who enjoys drawing and often loses herself in her imagination. She lives a quiet life with her family near Hiroshima, helping her grandmother with the nori seaweed business. When she reaches adulthood, Suzu leaves home to marry Shuusaku Houjou, a man she hardly knows. Adjusting to life in her husband's household isn't easy, and her loneliness grows as the war intensifies, creeping closer to home. When the conflict finally shatters her peaceful world, Suzu must find the strength to protect herself and the people she has grown to care for. "Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni" captures the beauty and sorrow of daily life before and after World War II, portraying the quiet resilience of ordinary people enduring one of history's most difficult times.
