Fafner: Heaven and Earth

The year is 2148. Two years after the events of the original "Fafner in the Azure" series, Tatsumiya Island and its remaining inhabitants have begun to rebuild. But for Kazuki, the struggle is far from over. Nearly blind and still bearing the physical scars of his past battles with the Festum, he holds onto the promise his lost friend Soushi made-to return and make things right. Kazuki’s hope reignites when an unmanned submarine drifts into Tatsumiya Bay, carrying a strange lifeform inside. Yet the person who emerges isn’t Soushi. Instead, it’s a mysterious "boy" named Misao Kurusu, who may not be fully human-and who insists Soushi sent him. With Misao’s arrival, tensions between the Human Army and the Festum flare up once more, forcing the Fafner pilots into their most dire battle yet. This time, the survival of two races hangs in the balance.
