若草のシャルロット , Charlotte of the Young Grass, Charlotte the Young Shoot
Charlotte is a twelve-year-old girl living on a farm in Canada. On her birthday, her father reveals that her mother-who Charlotte thought had died-is actually alive in Paris and will soon come to live with them. Charlotte struggles with this news at first, but just as she starts to accept it, her father passes away. Left to fend for herself, she learns her father came from a wealthy family, and her grandfather now wants to force her to return to them. To make matters worse, she barely knows her mother, and a greedy landowner is scheming to take her father’s farm. Life won’t be easy for Charlotte.
