Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop
Yui "Cherry" Sakura communicates best through the haiku he shares online, though hardly anyone notices. As he prepares to move with his family in August, he spends the summer working part-time at a welfare facility. On the other hand, Yuki "Smile" Hoshino is an aspiring influencer who wants to make others happy but hides her own smile behind a disposable mask, self-conscious about her braces and protruding front teeth. When Smile accidentally crosses paths with Cherry, she ends up working at the same facility. Together, they help an elderly man named Fujiyama search for a lost vinyl record he once owned. With his memories fading, he longs to hear it one last time-but all they have to go on is the record sleeve and the word "yamazakura." Their quest begins under the sweltering summer sun.
