True Tears
Shinichiro is a high school student stuck in a situation most boys would envy, but for him, it’s just frustrating. A popular and cheerful girl named Hiromi has been living with his family for the past year after her father, a close friend of the family, passed away. At school, she’s outgoing, athletic, and always smiling-but Shinichiro suspects she’s hiding sadness behind that smile. He paints watercolors of her, wishing he could comfort her, but he’s too nervous to even talk to her at home, where she’s oddly quiet and withdrawn. His life gets even more complicated when his friend Nobuse teases him for watching Hiromi from a distance, a strange girl named Noe curses him with bad luck, and he’s roped into performing Muhiga dancing. He hopes that helping Noe might solve his own problems, but when it comes to fixing his own struggles, he’s at a loss.
