The Morose Mononokean - S01

Hanae Ashiya may still owe a heavy debt to the gloomy Haruitsuki Abeno, but he’s grown to like his work as an exorcist. His unique ability to talk to youkai has made him feel responsible for these supernatural beings, and he does his best to guide them back to their rightful place in the Underworld. Just as Ashiya’s life settles into a rhythm, the youkai stir up trouble again. Word of his existence is spreading, and not everyone approves of a human working in the Mononokean, the mystical tea room that bridges worlds. When a routine trip to the Underworld catches the notice of powerful figures, Ashiya realizes that some youkai have their own agendas-and they won’t cooperate with Abeno’s plans.
