The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - S01

If you asked people whether they believed in aliens, time travelers, or psychics, most would say no-including Kyon, an ordinary high school student. But on his first day of school, a girl named Haruhi Suzumiya shatters his skepticism. During class introductions, Haruhi boldly declares her boredom with "normal" people and her obsession with finding the supernatural. When Kyon offhandedly suggests she start her own club, she takes it seriously, forming the "Spreading Fun all Over the World with Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade," or SOS Brigade for short. Against his will, Kyon gets roped into the club alongside three others: Yuki Nagato, a quiet bookworm; Mikuru Asahina, a timid upperclassman; and Itsuki Koizumi, an endlessly cheerful transfer student. Though they seem ordinary at first, each hides a secret connected to Haruhi. Dragged into her wild schemes, Kyon finds himself caught in a whirlwind of bizarre adventures, slowly uncovering the truth behind Haruhi’s strange behavior-and the unsettling reality of who she really is.
