The Book of the Dead

After copying Buddhist sutras, a young noblewoman named Iratsume slips into a trance and wanders to a secluded temple where women are not allowed. There, she awakens the spirit of Prince Otsu, who was executed long ago. The ghost mistakes Iratsume for an ancestor-a woman who witnessed his execution. Her face, the last thing he saw before death, still torments him, leaving his spirit unable to find peace.
