Tetsujin 28: Morning Moon of Midday
This film adaptation of Yokoyama Mitsuteru's manga follows the brilliant young detective Kaneda Shotaro and his giant robot, Tetsujin 28, in a postwar Tokyo ten years after World War II. Shotaro's long-lost brother reappears, now trained as a pilot for the military robot Tetsujin, which Japan originally built for the war. But with the conflict over, he finds himself adrift in a peaceful Japan. Meanwhile, "Destruction Bombs" begin surfacing across Tokyo-devastating weapons designed by Professor Kaneda, Shotaro's father and the creator of Tetsujin 28, as a last line of defense for the homeland. If these bombs detonate, the city will be utterly destroyed.
