Rainbow - S01

Japan, 1955: Mario Minakami and five other troubled teenagers, all convicted of serious crimes, are sent to Shounan Special Reform School. Thrown into the same cell, they cross paths with Rokurouta Sakuragi, an older inmate and former boxer. Despite their harsh circumstances, the group forms a tight bond with him. Inspired by Rokurouta’s guidance and his promise that they’ll reunite after serving their time, the boys start to see a glimmer of hope in their bleak situation. Their daily lives are a relentless battle against cruelty, especially from Ishihara, a vindictive guard who harbors a personal grudge against Rokurouta, and Gisuke Sasaki, a doctor who derives sick pleasure from abusing the inmates. Enduring brutal suffering and humiliation, the seven cling to their fragile unity to survive until their release. But even if they make it out, what kind of future awaits them beyond the prison walls?
