More than a hundred years ago, astral mages fleeing the Empire's persecution united under three noble houses-Lou, Hydra, and Zoa-to form the Nebulis Sovereignty. Led by Millavair Lou Nebulis VIII, the Sovereignty seeks to limit bloodshed in its struggle against the Empire, a stance the radical Zoas fiercely oppose. As the election for the next leader draws near, tensions between the founding families escalate. The Zoas will stop at nothing to win, but their victory could plunge the world into a devastating war. Princess Aliceliese "Alice" Lou Nebulis XI must forge alliances wherever she can to achieve her goal of finally ending the conflict that has haunted her people for generations. Even if that means working with Iska-the Empire's most formidable warrior and her greatest enemy.
