Muv-Luv Alternative - S01

Cadet Takeru Shirogane returns to his original world with the help of Professor Yuuko Kouzuki's technology and Kasumi Yashiro's psychic abilities. Determined to save humanity from the invading alien species known as the BETA, Takeru seeks Yuuko's aid to finish the Alternative IV project-their last hope. Meanwhile, he and his fellow cadets graduate from the Yokohama pilot training academy as the project nears completion. During a test of the new Tactical Surface Fighter operating system-the massive combat suits humanity relies on-Takeru and his team are ambushed by the BETA. He barely survives but is left shattered after watching a close friend die horribly. Unable to face battle any longer, Takeru escapes back to the parallel world, only to endure a similar tragedy. Yuuko's theory suggests that people across parallel universes are fated to suffer the same pain. If Takeru wants to protect those he cares about, he must find the strength to confront his trauma.
