Garden of Remembrance
A messy room-scattered beer cans, empty wine bottles, a half-finished glass of whiskey. A girl wakes up in a daze and begins her routine. This is your morning: slow, sluggish, reluctant to rise. I watch over you, an unseen presence, playing little tricks while you strum your guitar and sip your drink. One day in town, you pass your childhood friend buying anemones-the flowers I loved. Remembering my fondness for them, you hurry to buy some yourself. Your friend carefully arranges the flowers at home. Years after my death, you hear a noise from the closet. When you open it, my garden stands before you, alive with memories. Emotions surge between us-me, the one who’s gone, and you, the one left behind. Later, as you leave that room of memories, a painting of the anemones you made hangs in your new home. (Source: Annecy Film Festival)
