Fruits Basket -prelude-

Kyouko Honda’s tragic death doesn’t erase her presence-her memory continues to offer comfort and guidance to those who loved her. But the Kyouko they remember, wise and warm, wasn’t always that way. As a young girl, abandoned by her family and pushed aside by the world, she turned her back on a stable life, falling into delinquency and throwing away her future. Just as she spiraled deeper into despair, she met Katsuya, a new teacher at her school. Unlike others, Katsuya remained unfazed by Kyouko’s outbursts, responding instead with kindness and patience-something she had never known before. Slowly, she let him into her wounded heart, and through him, she began to see a life she hadn’t dared to imagine.
