A Spirit of the Sun - S01

On August 10, 2002, the eruption of Mount Fuji and a series of devastating earthquakes and tsunamis cause widespread destruction across Japan, plunging the country into chaos. Days later, on August 15, another massive earthquake strikes, splitting Japan into two separate regions. As Japanese refugees flee abroad, the government accepts aid from both China and the United States, leading to China taking control of the north and the USA overseeing the south. Fifteen years later, tensions rise in Taiwan between local citizens and the Japanese refugees living there, fueled by job competition and the refugees' stagnant living conditions. Genichiro Ryu, a survivor of the original disasters, was raised in Taiwan by adoptive parents. Now, he finds himself caught in the conflict between the two groups, striving to find a way for them to live together peacefully.
