Willem Kmetsch risks everything to confront a mysterious monster, leaving behind those he cares for. Though he defeats the creature, he is frozen in ice for centuries. During his long sleep, humanity is nearly wiped out by terrifying beings called "Beasts." When Willem awakens 500 years later, he finds himself alone-the last of his kind. With the remaining races, he takes shelter on floating islands above the ravaged world, living cautiously under the constant threat of the Beasts below. Willem spends his days in isolation, scraping by with odd jobs until he’s assigned to oversee a weapon storage facility. At first, the task seems mundane, but he soon discovers the truth: the "weapons" are a group of young Leprechauns. Though they look human, they see themselves as nothing more than tools of war, willing to throw away their lives without hesitation. Among them is Chtholly Nota Seniorious, who embraces her role as a living weapon, ready to die if it means defeating the Beasts and securing peace. Despite their grim purpose, Willem grows attached to the Leprechauns, becoming a protective figure in their lives. Once a warrior himself, he can no longer fight on the front lines-now, all he can do is watch over them, hoping they return safely from battles against the same monsters that destroyed his people.
