Sato's life is a wreck, consumed by paranoia and social fear. He hides from the outside world, his apartment littered with takeout containers, his mind warped by endless hours of online porn. But maybe he isn’t entirely to blame-the shadowy N.H.K. is lurking out there, manipulating society’s outcasts into becoming hopeless shut-ins. Then Misaki shows up. She’s the kind of girl who seems too good to be true, and she’s determined to drag Sato out of his self-made prison. He resists, preferring to hide in his delusions and half-heartedly work on his adult game project. Sato is too scared to change. Misaki is oddly insistent on saving him. If they can push through their own flaws, they might just find something like a normal life.
