Vehicle Force Voltron - S01

In the original Japanese version, "Dairugger XV" follows an exploration robot designed as a peacekeeping force. Earth is thriving, and the president of the Terran League (called the "Galaxy Alliance" in Voltron) sends a mission to explore beyond the galaxy. The starship Rugger-Guard is attacked by the Galbeston Empire shortly after launch, forcing the deployment of the super robot Dairugger to protect Earth. By chance, the crew also ends up aiding the people of Galbeston, helping them find a new home before their planet explodes and freeing them from their tyrannical emperor. Unlike the U.S. version, "Voltron: Defender of the Universe," this story has no connection to "King of the Beasts GoLion." Dairugger is formed by combining 15 individual units called "Ruggers," divided into three assault teams: Land, Air, and Sea. The design was inspired by rugby, as a rugby union team also consists of 15 players. In the American adaptation, the "Galbeston Empire" was renamed the "Drule Empire," and much of the violence and sexual content was cut to make the show suitable for a wider audience.
