Unico in the Island of Magic
This animated film is based on "Unico and the Kingdom of the Sun," newly adapted for the theater. It follows the clash between the wizard Kukuruku and Unico, as Kukuruku constructs a castle using dolls made from transformed men. The story explores the grief and fear of these men turned into lifeless figures, as well as a girl named Cherry who hopes to restore her brother’s kindness-a student of Kukuruku. The film reflects on Osamu Tezuka’s recurring theme of "transformation," showing how it affects not just physical forms but the human spirit itself.
