The Vision of Escaflowne - S01

Hitomi Kanzaki is a typical 15-year-old girl who enjoys tarot cards and fortune telling-until one night, a boy named Van Fanel drops from the sky alongside a savage dragon. Guided by Hitomi’s premonition, Van slays the beast, but a sudden beam of light engulfs them both, pulling Hitomi into the world of Gaea, a strange realm where Earth looms in the sky like a distant moon. In Gaea, Hitomi learns that Van is the prince of Fanelia, a kingdom soon invaded by the ruthless Zaibach Empire. Van pilots his family’s ancient guymelef, Escaflowne-a towering mechanized armor-to defend his home, but he fails, and Fanelia is left in ruins. Forced into hiding, Hitomi and Van cross paths with Allen Schezar, a dashing knight from Asturia. To Hitomi’s surprise, Allen bears an uncanny resemblance to the boy she secretly admired back on Earth. With new allies joining their cause, Van and Hitomi resist Zaibach’s relentless advance as the empire seeks to awaken a long-forgotten power.
