The Tree In Sunlight - S01
陽だまりの樹 , A Tree in a Sunny Place
Set in 1855 during Japan's turbulent final years of the Tokugawa era, this story follows two young men in Edo's Koishigawa district. Manjiro Ibutani is a low-ranking samurai with exceptional sword skills and a rigid sense of honor, struggling to uphold his fading traditions. His counterpart, Ryoan Tezuka, is a cheerful womanizer training to become a Western-style doctor. Though opposites in temperament, both navigate the changing world as their paths cross. The tale draws from history-Ryoan was actually the great-grandfather of legendary manga artist Osamu Tezuka.
