The Summer Hikaru Died - S02

Six months ago, Yoshiki Tsujinaka's closest friend, Hikaru Indou, vanished in the mountains and reappeared a week later with no memory of what happened. Convinced the person who returned isn’t the Hikaru he knew, Yoshiki finally confronts him. In response, "Hikaru" unveils his monstrous true form and pleads with Yoshiki to keep his secret-he doesn’t want to kill him. Though clearly not human, "Hikaru" behaves with an almost naive curiosity, marveling at summer warmth, the rural landscape, and the simple joys of living in a human body for the first time. Yoshiki, consumed by loss, doesn’t care if this "Hikaru" is an imposter built from stolen memories-he just can’t bear to lose him again. But as Yoshiki clings to him in desperate sorrow, it grows increasingly obvious that something sinister and otherworldly has crept down from the mountains into their village.
