The Ryuo's Work is Never Done! - S01

Shogi, a traditional Japanese board game resembling chess, is widely played across the country by people of all ages. A select few skilled players even turn professional, competing for prestigious titles. Among these, "Ryuuou" - meaning "dragon king" - is the highest honor, reserved for the absolute best in the game. Yaichi Kuzuryuu recently made history by becoming the youngest-ever Ryuuou after his championship victory. Yet his achievement is met with scorn, as many in the shogi world dismiss him as the weakest Ryuuou to hold the title. To make matters worse, he forgets his promise to Ai Hinatsuru, a young girl he vowed to teach if he won. When she arrives at his door, he has no choice but to honor his word and take her on as his student. Now, the two push each other to grow stronger. Ai strives to discover her potential, while Yaichi fights to silence his critics and prove his worth as the true Ryuuou.
