The Elusive Samurai - S01

Tokiyuki Houjou, an eight-year-old noble boy, lives a carefree life in Kamakura, blissfully ignoring the weight of his future role as shogun. Rather than training in swordsmanship or archery, he hones his skill at evasion-dodging advisors and finding the best hiding spots. But his peaceful days end abruptly when a violent coup destroys his entire clan. Tormented by guilt as the only survivor, Tokiyuki nearly gives up on life. His fate changes when the mysterious priest Yorishige Suwa pushes him onto a battlefield, declaring that he will one day become a great hero. Forced to escape enemy soldiers, Tokiyuki discovers an unexpected thrill in turning his old hide-and-seek games into a fight for survival. With Yorishige’s promise of allies and a newfound purpose, Tokiyuki swears to avenge his family-not by learning to fight, but by mastering the art of running away.
