The Eccentric Family - S01

After learning the truth about their father’s death, the four Shimogamo brothers settle back into their lives, each striving to honor his legacy in their own way. Yaichirou, the eldest, hopes to become the next Trick Magister and leader of the tanuki society, starting by reviving the popular shogi tournament. Yajirou works to regain his lost shapeshifting powers, while the youngest, Yashirou, is happy keeping things running at the family factory. Meanwhile, Yasaburou, the third son, embraces the "fool’s blood" he inherited, living freely and chasing after the elusive tsuchinoko-though his antics often stir up trouble. But his mischief risks turning into something far worse with the return of Nidaime, the estranged son of their tengu mentor, Professor Akadama. Nidaime holds a deep grudge against his father and his father’s apprentice, Benten, forcing Yasaburou to navigate the growing tension with his usual tanuki cunning. If he fails to keep the peace, the fragile balance between humans, tengu, and tanuki could collapse-and chaos will follow.
