Decades after the sentient AI Skynet seized control of the world in 2022, the human resistance continues its struggle against the machines. After a brutal battle, Eiko, a Japanese guerrilla soldier, corners a Terminator-Skynet's advanced killing machine-and extracts vital intel about its plans. This information allows the resistance to send her back in time in hopes of changing the future. In August 1997, just days before Skynet's nuclear strike, known as Judgment Day, Malcolm Lee is developing Kokoro, an AI meant to defend humanity. But as the attack draws near, a Terminator arrives in Japan to eliminate Malcolm and his children before Kokoro gains self-awareness. Malcolm must ensure his creation doesn’t follow Skynet's path-one that leads to humanity's annihilation.
