Sword of the Demon Hunter - S01

As children, Jinta and Suzune fled their home and found refuge in Kadono Village under the care of Motoharu-the village’s honorable guardian-and his daughter, Shirayuki. The village was governed by Itsukihime, the shrine maiden, a figure few were permitted to approach. After Itsukihime’s death, Shirayuki took her place. Determined to stay close to her, Jinta worked tirelessly for years until he was chosen as the next guardian. Now tasked with defending the village, Jinta confronts a demon in the nearby forest. After their battle, the demon declares the coming of a destined ruler for all demonkind. Before dying, he grafts his severed arm onto Jinta, turning him into an immortal demon. When Jinta regains consciousness, Kadono is in flames. Suzune has become the prophesied demon, and in a tragic misunderstanding, she kills Shirayuki and vanishes. Heartbroken and enraged, Jinta sets out on a journey to find Suzune. Traveling through Japan across the ages, he fights to protect others from violent demons. In his solitude, he wrestles with the question of what he will do when he finally reunites with the friend he once cherished.
