Sotobamura is a remote village of about 1,300 people-so small it doesn’t even have a highway. Cut off from the outside world, it clings to old traditions, including ancient burial customs. When three villagers are found dead, the local doctor, Ozaki Toshio, hesitates but dismisses it as nothing unusual. Soon after, more villagers begin dying in quick succession.
