Patema Inverted

Patema is a spirited young girl from an underground society with an expansive network of tunnels. Driven by the disappearance of a friend, she often explores these tunnels despite being scolded for it due to her royal background. When she ventures into the "forbidden zone," a strange creature startles her, causing her to tumble into a seemingly endless pit. She lands on the surface, but in this world, gravity is inverted-she starts falling upward toward the sky. Age, a disillusioned student from the oppressive nation of Aiga, rescues her. The people of Aiga are raised to believe that "Inverts" like Patema are sinners destined to be "swallowed by the sky," but Age rejects this propaganda and chooses to shield her. Their unexpected encounter sparks a journey as the two curious teens uncover the mysteries of their worlds and their shared past. "Sakasama no Patema" is a touching story about bridging divides and finding common ground.
