Mermaid's Forest - S01

An old legend says that eating a mermaid’s flesh grants immortality. Five hundred years ago, Yuta accidentally ate a piece and has wandered Japan ever since, searching for a mermaid in the hope of reversing his curse. When he finally encounters one, he learns the terrible truth: mermaids stay young by raising human girls to devour, stealing their youth. Yuta kills the mermaids and rescues their latest victim, a girl named Mana-but she has already eaten some of their flesh. Though he regrets the violence, Yuta is no longer alone; Mana, who spent her life confined to a hut, now finds joy in even the smallest things. Together, they continue their search for mermaids, hoping to undo their fate and become human again.
