Mega Man: Upon a Star - S01

In episode 2 of this anime, Rockman leaves the game world to visit the real world and learn about Japanese culture. This was originally meant to be a special episode for Ruby-Spears' "Mega Man" cartoon series, which aired in the US around 1995. The special was completed before Ruby-Spears redesigned the entire show to better appeal to American audiences. Because it no longer matched the new style, the episode was never included in the series. Later, two more episodes continuing the same story were made, this time under the title "Rockman" (unlike episode 2, where he's called Mega Man, even in the Japanese version). It’s unclear if these three episodes were officially released until 2002, when Capcom of Japan reissued them on DVD for Rockman’s 15th anniversary. The DVDs included both Japanese and English dubs but no subtitles. Whether any other hidden animated works based on the original Rockman games exist remains unknown.
