Le Portrait de Petite Cossette - S01

Eiri Kurahashi, a Japanese art student, spends his days working at an antique shop. Lately, his friends have noticed something unsettling-his behavior has shifted dramatically. He seems lost in thought, distracted, and unlike himself. They suspect a girl might be the cause. They might not be wrong. Eiri has become fixated on a beautiful, doll-like girl trapped inside an antique Venetian glass, a piece his uncle brought back from France. She appears to live in a surreal world confined within the glass, yet her presence lingers in his mind. His sketchbook overflows with drawings of her, and he can’t shake his growing obsession. When he spots her in a portrait by the enigmatic Italian artist Marchello Orlando, he discovers her name: Cossette d’Auvergne, a girl who met a tragic end with her family. One evening, as he locks up the shop, a voice begs him not to go. Face-to-face with the girl who haunts him, Eiri agrees to something-though he doesn’t quite grasp what he’s promised.
