Shinobu Oomiya spent time abroad in England as a homestay student, where she formed a close bond with Alice Cartelet, the daughter of her host family. When Shinobu had to return to Japan, the two struggled to say goodbye despite not speaking the same language. Five years later, Shinobu is in high school when she receives an airmail letter she can’t read-written by Alice, who announces she’s coming to Japan for her own homestay. To Shinobu’s surprise, Alice will even be attending her school and living with her. Along with their friends Youko Inokuma, Aya Komichi, and Karen Kujou, the five girls navigate school life together, discovering the joys and challenges of their cultural differences each day.
