Kasumi Haruno is a fourth-grader who travels to Kasumi Town to say goodbye to her zoologist parents as they leave for a research trip in Africa. She’ll be staying in the Kasumi family’s large mansion, nestled deep in the surrounding forest. As soon as she enters the mansion’s gates, Kasumi senses something odd in the woods nearby. But nothing prepares her for what she finds inside-the appliances talk! It turns out the Kasumi family are actually youkai known as "Henamon." Now Kasumi, who never imagined living among such creatures, must cook, clean, and do laundry to earn her keep. With these strange beings as her new housemates, what kind of life awaits her?
