Vampires are ancient creatures that survive by feeding on the blood of humans under the cover of night. But Karin Maaka, a high school student, isn’t like other vampires-or even her own family. Since childhood, she has struggled with polycythemia, a rare condition that makes her produce too much blood. The more blood her body creates, the weaker and dizzier she becomes, often resulting in sudden nosebleeds. Her only relief comes from passing her excess blood to unsuspecting strangers, though this has an odd side effect: the people she "feeds" on end up feeling more energetic and cheerful afterward. With the help of her siblings-Anju, her quiet but caring younger sister, and Ren, her flirtatious older brother-Karin keeps her condition hidden by erasing the memories of those she affects. But her secret is at risk when Kenta Usui, a new transfer student, starts noticing her strange behavior. Worse yet, Karin’s blood reacts in ways she doesn’t understand whenever Kenta is around.
