Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood - S01

In 1931, Japan is still ruled by the Tokugawa Shogunate, now in its 64th year under the Meiji era. With control over the rare "Dragon Vein" resource, the government has ushered the nation into a technologically advanced version of the Edo period. To maintain order, the Shogunate employs an elite group of executioners known as "Nue," who are tasked with suppressing the rebel faction "Kuchinawa." Sawa Yukimura appears to live a quiet life as the owner of the Tsuyukasa Bookshop, but her true motive is revenge. A survivor of a massacre that destroyed her tribe and family, she possesses a unique power tied to her blue blood, allowing her to transform. When Nue offers her information about the man behind the slaughter-Janome, the Kuchinawa’s leader-she joins their ranks, hiding her true intentions beneath the surface of her ordinary life.
