In/Spectre - S01
During a snowstorm, Masayuki Muroi is thrown off a mountain by an old high school friend, left to die. Instead, he survives when Yuki-Onna-a spirit known to lure men to their deaths-saves him, though she demands payment for her help. Years later, Masayuki has built a successful life, marrying and gaining wealth-until his company fails and his wife betrays him. Broken, he returns to the town where Yuki-Onna once rescued him, offering her money and food as they reconnect. Just as he begins to recover, another disaster strikes: his ex-wife is found murdered, and with no alibi, Masayuki becomes the prime suspect. Only Yuki-Onna knows the truth, but revealing herself isn’t an option. Desperate, Yuki-Onna seeks help from Kotoko Iwanaga, the God of Wisdom for spirits. Known for her sharp mind, Kotoko resolves disputes among spirits and keeps their world separate from humanity’s. With her immortal boyfriend, Kurou Sakuragawa, in tow, she takes on the case, vowing to clear Masayuki’s name without exposing Yuki-Onna’s secret.
